During the afternoon, we will visit one of the oldest and most imposing castle of the Langhe, where Barolo wine was developed and perfected in the past centuries. At the end of the tour, we will enjoy a Barolo tasting in the “enoteca” under the castle, where we will learn about the different styles and winemakers philosophy. This unconventional Alba city center tour will give you the opportunity to discover the city from a different point of view, with plenty of stories of relevant personalities, hidden artistic gems and original corners known just by the locals. We will enter historic buildings, discover step by step the history of ancient Roman ruins, visit the San Lorenzo Cathedral, see the medieval towers and enter the Town Hall which hosts some of the most important artistic masterpieces of the city. You will learn all you have to know about Alba’s medieval everyday life and listen to anecdotes and stories about the unbelievable recent history of the city.

Walking on the cobble stones of Neive, an historic Roman city with a medieval soul, will visit the impressive cellar under the medieval castle where we will learn about Barbaresco wine protagonists, stories, and legends, enjoying a relaxed wine tasting. Besides we will enter the smallest museum of the world to discover some exclusive “grappa” labels. We will then head to Pollenzo, a Roman village for a full immersion in the first King of Italy’s cellar, topped off with a special wine tasting in the underground “Wine Bank”. Our next destination is Cherasco, an undisclosed, off the beaten path, village full of history and magic. After a leisurely lunch in a restaurant beloved by locals, with free choice from the menu, we will have a nice stroll in the Napoleon baluards, visit a Baroque church with stucco-covered down and experience a unique “smell” tasting. Finally, our tour will end with an aperitivo in a nice enoteca in the main piazza.
