I am Sara Matteodo, a professional licensed Tour Guide and trained Sommelier of 15 years. I was born and raised in the Barolo hills and wine stories have flown in my veins since I was a child!
Alongside my passion for Italian Art and History, I had the privilege to work for “Slow Food Association” and Pollenzo “Wine Bank”. I decided to create these gourmet private adventures to unite my true passions: Piedmont premium wines, local people’s stories, and the impressive large treasure called “nonna recipes”.
I am obsessed with quality and authenticity. And, above all, I have lots of fun while indulging, exploring and tasting with my guests!

Sara has a wonderful knowledge of the wine and the area and is passionate in her support of it - as well as knowing many of the local residents.The Langhe Grand Tour was an unforgettable day for me partly because of the beauty of the region and its wines but also because of Sara and her passion for the area, its wines, produce and people.
Sara’s wine tour was very well organized and paced for the day. The Barolo vineyards selected were excellent and the winemakers were generous with both their time, tastings and information. Between these visits we were able to see much of the surrounding countryside. We had lunch at the delightful small city where Sara took us to an amazing local restaurant hidden away amongst the backstreets.
Sara was the most gracious and welcoming tour guide. My husband and I were lucky enough to get a private wine tour with her around the beautiful countryside of Barolo and it’s neighboring towns. We tried delicious wine and tasted amazing Italian cuisine, while learning about the history of the Italian wine country. Being that Sara is a local, she knows so much about her town and we really got to feel like locals ourselves. We even got to meet some of her family and friends! The experience was truly personal and one I will never forget. We cannot wait to go back and visit and tour with Sara again. I would highly recommend her to anyone traveling to Piedmont.
Sara was an amazing wine tour guide! We were absolutely so lucky to have her! Not only was she incredibly knowledgeable of the wine, the winery's and the area, but Sara took us through incredible tucked away parts of Italy that we would not have known about otherwise. She shared fascinating stories about the area and how it related to the wine. The experience we had and the stories she told us are something we still enjoy chatting about to this day. Sara really created a very personal and magical experience for both of us! Thank you Sara!
Sara greatly enhanced our visit to Piedmont, providing expert guidance and insights which elevated and focused our travels in the region, highlighting the region's finest food and wine resources. Our time with Sara included a memorable morning with an experienced truffle hunter (and his dogs); we hunted (successfully) with Sara for the region's renowned white truffles. Sara has an encyclopedic knowledge of Piedmont. Sara is passionate about the region's culinary and cultural glories, bringing to life the artisans who make the region so special. We intend to return to Piedmont and will certainly utilize Sara as our expert guide.
