BAROLO SECRETS TOUR

Our most special educational tour created for Wine Lovers is focused on the king of the Langhe Hills: Barolo wine. Through an immersive experience on the Barolo Tour you will learn about the true history, the different styles and the die-hard producers that make this wine become the real soul of the region.
How and where was the Barolo grape born? What trick did a clever lady use to make it so famous? Why the so-called “Barolo Wars” broke up and who won at the end? These are just some of the many questions that will be answered during the day though the words of the wine producers. To really understand the complexity of this wine and get to know how the unique “terroir” and the work in the cellar influence the Barolo, we will visit two cellars with different winemaking philosophy. Talking with the winemakers themselves you will learn how single vineyards, different soils and barrels styles have a key role in the Barolo you are drinking. After this fun and educational tour, you will look at your glass of Barolo differently!

Comparing different vintages and wooden barrels styles, you will explore the delicate universe of the aging process. Talking with the winemakers in a welcoming environment, you will learn about the “cru”, the single “vigne”, different wooden barrels. Pretty much everything you need to know about the different and unique Barolo and Barbaresco souls.

ALL ABOUT BAROLO TOUR

This very informative and surprising tour is for Barolo lovers. It is all about Barolo and its different souls (and soils).
The marin origin of the soil makes every single plot of this the Langhe hills a world apart. To fully understand the complexity of this wine and how this unique “terroir” influence the Barolo you are drinking, we will meet two producers with vineyards on different slopes of the Barolo area. We will learn all about the geological history by discovering the visible different soil compositions and even touching the different layers underground. Yes, we will go underground.
We will first meet a producer in the younger and sandy part of the hills where Barolo is more delicate, elegant, “feminine”.  In the afternoon we will move to the more ancient border, where the wine is more structured, almost aggressive and “masculine.” To have a complete overview we will talk with the producers about different barrels styles, winemakers philosophies and Barolo best vintages. After this highly educative tour you may want to ask many questions before you buy next bottle of Barolo.

BARBARESCO DISCOVERY TOUR

In this off the beaten paths tour you will discover a real raising star among the Piedmont wines: Barbaresco.
While having many similarities with Barolo, Barbaresco shows from the first glass its intense and intriguing personality. Despite being produced in a very small area (just 3 and a half villages) the different soil composition and winemakers philosophy create an unbelievable number of distinguishing Barbaresco. Will you prefer the more elegant, silky or approachable one?
We will start with the small Barbaresco town, its history and its medieval tower. We will then visit a family run winery in the more ancient part of the hills where we will be lucky enough to discuss about “cru”, soil, barrels style, organic conversion with a family member.
During this highly educative tour we’ll visit a contrasting mix of wineries, both revered by top notch sommeliers and also traditional family boutique cellars, with vineyards in different villages, in order to give you a complete picture of the Barbaresco wine culture and its families.
